About the album

Through the release of 2023's Discovery and tours of the Midwest and New York, trumpeter Eric Jacobson's rapport with his quintet of NY pianist Bruce Barth and the Chicago-based saxophonist Geof Bradfield, bassist Dennis Carroll and drummer George Fludas, has melded into a thriving ensemble performing on the highest levels. His eight original compositions provide the perfect vehicle for Jacobson’s warmth-under-fire playing and the band's emotive presence, each perpetually on the verge of ascending even higher. Heading Home is an intriguing celebration of friendship, exploration, and a shared passion for the music. It's a sonic journey that takes you from Milwaukee and Chicago to New York—ultimately leading you back home.
